"Two Little Words"

I do! and you’re two, you are married. Sounds so simple, quick and easy, the beginning of your marriage begins. With four little words, “ Will you marry me?” Answered by one little word, “Yes!” you are off to the altar.

For this short passage of time you become Bride and Groom.
Entering a world filled with new considerations, ideas and the thoughts and feelings of two. As you approach the altar it can be a lesson in listening, a study in hearing each other in a deeper way.

In times gone by, the Bride and Groom downed their Sunday best, the groom picked a hand full of flowers from the garden or field, shared their ceremony with loved ones and celebrated with a community meal.

Today weddings have become royal experiences. As the Bride and Groom compile their quest list, pay for hor d’oeuvres, wine and dine their quest, fill the room with lavish arrays of flowers, fill the air with music, include a favor for each quest and on and on.

What started out with a simple yes and begins with two little words is a vast array of choices and decisions to be made together. In the process the Bride and Groom begin to learn how to make these choices and decisions together as a “we”. Growing from a “me” to a “we” can create some growing pains.

So how to grow in depth and soulfulness may be the quest of the modern Bride & Groom. A good place to start is to decide what ingredients really matter to each of you. In this way you can begin to come up with a course of action that you both can share.

Once your wedding date is set you can begin the process of where?
Where will your ceremony take place? Where will you celebrate your new beginning? Who do you really want to share these moments with?

Now that you have the container you can fill in the details. What is most important to the Bride? What is most important to the Groom? Each one can then take the lead in that area, always getting input, ideas and feelings from the other. Perhaps you have the idea without the time or desire to plan your wedding. Have your wedding planner work with both of you.

How simple can it really be? The Bride, The Groom, The Wedding Officiant, Sometimes a Witness, Rings, Flowers and an Inspirational location and “I do!” You become husband and wife.

What ever you choose; simple or royal, focus your wedding on what speaks to your heart. With this focus your marriage will begin with a vision that will spark a lifetime of memories of loving each other well as Husband & Wife.
