Questions About Wedding Programs and Maps?
Wedding planning is an enormous job and can be a daunting task for the most experienced individual. It is no wonder we often overlook the small things, which can make a wedding truly unique and memorable.
A wedding program and a customized map can turn any wedding from "ordinary" to "unforgettable" in a matter of minutes, without straining an individual's budget or time.
What is a wedding program?
A wedding program is a thoughtful keepsake for those involved in your wedding and a helpful way to guide your guests through your ceremony. Your program can simply list your wedding party or it can be a multi-page layout containing the entire ceremony (listing your vows, wedding party, procession and songs). Most programs are inexpensive to design and fall within a wedding's budget. In a sense, they are for "the couple that has thought of everything". Not to mention, they make wonderful mementos for your wedding album.
Why include a map?
A customized map will provide your guests with an extra level of comfort. It is often overlooked in the early stages of planning and isn't remembered until you are stuffing your invitations. For the guest-to-be, nothing is more frustrating than not being able to find a church or wedding hall, especially when most of us rely on that dusty map from the backseat floorboard of our cars.
Where can I find help with programs and maps? Any tips on the best program or map?
Couples can search the web for wedding programs and customized maps. Many companies offer an array of font styles, paper choices and samples of previous wedding programs and/or maps.
A basic wedding program should highlight your wedding date, location of the ceremony and the names of your wedding party. An expanded program could include engagement pictures, personal stories and a keepsake copy of your wedding invitation (printed on the cover or backside of your program).
A complete and helpful map should provide directions from at least two approaches to your event and list phone numbers for those lost (or late) guests. Typically, maps should be ordered the same week as your invitations so you can include one with each invite.
