I kept the old Destination Wedding Ring on WebRing open and semi-functional through March 1, 2001 -- because it was simply unfair to close things down completely until all sites had a chance to move to the new ring on RingSurf. Some people just do not check their e-mail all that often, and several ring notices "bounce" (due to failure of updating e-mail information once it's changed). However, the official Destination Wedding Ring will now be housed on RingSurf (application below). I will no longer approve applications to the Destination Wedding Ring on Webring, as it no longer exists! If you have any questions about these changes, please contact Robyn. And thank you for your understanding and patience! As always -- I'm here to help walk you through it as painlessly as possible.
Well, since it looks like you've gone this far, you must be pretty interested in joining The Destination Wedding Web Ring. However, there are a few rules that we must ask you to follow.
- Your pages must pertain primarily
to "destination weddings", whether they be personal homepages, wedding pages, marriage resources, etc. The pages of those who are soon-to-be married are accepted also.
- No commercial pages or advertising, please. This is a planning resource -- not a commercial resource. Commercial sites are welcome in several other rings, including the Destination Wedding Ring for Professionals, The Knot Wedding Pros Webring, and The Ultimate Wedding Link Exchange.
- The pages must not contain any obscene
or offensive graphics or words or references to sex
or drugs. In other words, they must maintain a "G"
rating.
- Place the Destination Wedding Ring navigation tool on the first entry into your destination wedding-related site, or have your ring links page CLEARLY labeled. Do not "bury" the ring to where it is impossible to find.
If your pages can not or do not follow these rules, please do not bother going any further.
Failure to follow these rules will force us to remove
you from The Destination Wedding Web Ring. Prior notice will
always be given before actual removal.
Steps to Joining The Destination Wedding Web Ring
Please follow these closely to preserve
the integrity of the ring!
- Save a copy of the Destination Wedding Ring graphic you see below and save it to your web page's server. The graphic is called
newdwimage.jpg.
[ Right click on the image and
select "Save Image as". ]
- Please View or Save the the Ring's HTML code and add this code to the first page of your destination wedding site (or clearly label your "web ring links" and make Destination Wedding Ring easy to find).
- To save the code in Internet Explorer, click on "View" and select "Source". Find the code that begins with
<!-- START Destination Wedding Web Ring Here -->
and highlight until you reach
<!-- STOP Destination Wedding Web Ring Here -->
To save the code in Netscape, do the same -- except
click on "View", and select "Page Source".
You will also receive a copy of this code
when you submit your site, and via e-mail.
[ To highlight the code from "View", right click and run your
cursor over what you want to highlight, hit <Control+C> to copy and then
<Control+V>
paste it in your web site. ]

And AOL members -- please read this FAQ before joining the Destination Wedding Ring. Thank you!
Make sure the "img src=" fragment points to
images on your own site. The Destination Wedding Ring link,
however, should still point to http://www.whollymatrimony.com/Webrings/destination.html.
Fill out the below form to register
your site and write down the Site ID number you are
assigned. This will put your page in the Destination Wedding Ring 'Queue', where it will remain there until robyn@whollymatrimony.com
adds you to the ring. This does not insert you
in the ring; the actual insertion is done later.

Already a Destination Wedding Ring member? Edit your info below!
|
Do not forget your Site ID or password. Write them down.
You will need them to edit your site entries later.
Change the two references of:
http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=destination;id=***SITE ID***;action=next
so that the id= is followed by your Site ID
number. For example, if your site ID is 123, the
href should be something like:
http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=destination;id=123;action=next
E-mail robyn@whollymatrimony.com
and ask to be added to the ring.
Be sure to include your Site ID Number in the
e-mail message. We will want
to look at your page to make sure it fits the Destination Wedding Ring theme. We will also make sure that the Destination Wedding Ring HTML fragment on your page is okay, and that you have uploaded the ring graphic to your server.
After checking out your page, the Destination Wedding Ring Owner will take your Site ID Number and use it to add you to the ring. You should then receive an e-mail telling you you've been added.
That's it! You should now be able to
navigate the entire ring until to make it back to
your own page (although it may take a while). An easy
way to make sure it is working is to go to the home
page of the person who added you and see if the next
button takes you to your own page.
