We were married in Jackson Square in the French Quarter of New Orleans on a Saturday afternoon (after getting permission from the Parks people). It was great...carriage picked us both up at the Le Richelieu Hotel and took us to the Square. After the ceremony and wedding photos, etc., we took a carriage ride through the Quarter...a wonderful experience with people yelling congrats at us and throwing beaded necklaces down at us from the balconies. Don't forget to take photos in the carriage! We got a Just Married sign to hang on the back of our carriage.
Kelly and I were unbelievably pleased with the quality and turn-around time of our wedding photos. Henry Cruppi has alot of experience with weddings, and does a great job. I also suggest you get some black and white shots...we were very pleased with them. Our photographer was even willing to go to Jackson Square to take some shots at the church which is an unbelievable backdrop for the wedding photos. Some of the shots came out so good that they almost looked "fake"...almost 3-dimensional. In order to get that high of a percentage of quality in our photos, Henry obviously knows what he's doing, and we recommend him.
We had two unbelievable, intimate dinners at two top-rated (deluxe 5-star) restaurants. Our favorite was The Grill Room at The Windsor Court Hotel. They sat us at a special table...very private. Ask for it. The meal included (at our request) a visit to the kitchen. The other restaurant we ate at was Commander's Palace, another New Orleans landmark. Also try the barbecue shrimp at Pascale Manale's because they are simply unbelievable! If you love shrimp -- this is a meal not to be missed!

When we began planning our wedding both sides of our families kept handing us lists of people who "had to be invited". Once our guest list got to 450+ people, Michael and I started getting a little worried. We realized that if we had that many people, we would spend our whole wedding being introduced to people neither of us had ever met, hearing "I remember when you were this big" -- never having any time to spend with each other. Well that was a little scary considering this was our wedding and we wanted to spend the night with each other. And the fact that our wedding was going to be at home in New York, would have cost us a fortune to have that many people back there.
So we decided that if we had our wedding far away that most of that 450+ would not attend the wedding. That way we could spend our wedding with the people we most cared about, and most importantly, with each other. So we booked a Walt Disney World "Fairy Tale Wedding". Our ceremony was held in Walt Disney World's Wedding Pavilion and our reception that followed was held at Walt Disney World's Grand Floridian Beach Resort.
Disney's Wedding Pavilion is 'non-denominational'. It can can seat up to 250 guests for a true fairy tale setting, and Disney provides several other ceremony location options (on-property) as well.
Disneyland also provides Fairy Tale weddings for their guests. For more information, visit Lynn and Michael's Disney Wedding, the Unofficial Disney Wedding Guide, and the Disney Wedding Webring.
