In your eyes, I see my future in an instant...
Jen describes how she met David: "We were lucky enough to be introduced to each other when both out with friends one night. We made small talk, and 'clicked' immediately. Later we both confessed we felt a connection from the first moment."
And there it goes...I think I found my best friend...
David proposed to Jen at home, after he had been out selecting her engagement ring that morning.
It was Jen's birthday the next day, and the proposal was supposed to happen then. But David couldn't keep a secret and because they had joint bank accounts, Jen had a vague notion of what he was up to.
They were both nervous and a little shy. David asked her, she said yes, and they giggled like little kids.
I knew I loved you before I met you...
The bride discusses their 'big day': "Our photographer described it as one of the happiest weddings she has ever photographed. She couldn't have paid us a higher compliment.
It was a relaxed family celebration, with lots of laughter, good company and happy tears. Our bridal party members were all family, with the exception of one of David's oldest friends.
My mother did an amazing job, designing the attendant's attire and bringing the whole 'look' together. Most of all, after all the stress of planning everything, double checking with vendors and running around completing errands for days before, after the ceremony David and I truly began to relax and enjoy the moment."
I think I dreamed you into life...
The bride wore a white A-line dress with intricate silver beading on the bodice and skirt that extended down to the hips in an asymmetrical design.
The groom wore a black suit, with a longer Lincoln-style jacket, white waistcoat and black cravat.
The bridesmaids wore soft pink with pink and lemon roses.
The flower girls wore billowing skirts made of tulle and silk ribbons.
I have been waiting all my life...
When asked if there was anything she would do differently, Jen replied: "The weather was pretty terrible, despite us picking a weekend in spring. I would have probably selected a date in November or December to play it on the safe side if I had my way again (which would have meant MORE waiting, so I'm not sure about that!)
If I truly had my choices again I would have picked a more informal reception, with cocktails and a marquee perhaps in a lovely location. Having the reception in a restaurant restricted us in a way, and frankly I was so tired by 10 p.m. I would have been happy for it to wind up and a bunch of us moving on to the hotel for some quiet drinks and conversation."
When asked what she would do the same: "The food was lovely, the photographer was superb. The people we gathered around us made us feel loved and special."
I am complete now that I've found you...
To sum up their wedding day the bride answered: "We laughed - all day. That's very 'us'."
