On the 15th of each month we feature a new and magnificent wedding! This is more than just a weekly "best site" contest with a link to the couple's wed-site. We will take you through the entire wedding process...from the planning, to the actual event, and everything in between...including details which made each big day special.

I've been blessed by the simple happiness... Jennifer and Dan met in high school. They have been together for six years. They went to college together and got engaged during their senior year. They were married this past June and are now living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Of the perfect love we've made...
After talking about it pretty much since the year they had started dating, Jennifer and Dan finally got engaged on December 2, 2000. Jennifer had a really horrible week at college and she was very stressed out. The couple decided to go out to dinner on Saturday so Jennifer could unwind a little. She went over to Dan's dorm room before they left, and there was a bouquet sitting on his desk. She thought it was just because she'd a bad week.
Dan had her open the card that he wrote along with the flowers, and it said: "Jennifer, I'm sorry you had a tough week. I hope these flowers make you feel better. I know what would really make you feel better...(turn over)..." and on the back of the card it said: "YOUR RING!!" As she read this, Dan dropped to one knee and pulled out the ring, and then he proposed! He said such wonderful things, mostly about how perfect they are for each other and how happy they make each other. Then he asked Jennifer if she would marry him. Of course she said "Yes!". Then Dan pointed up to his bed. He had hidden a video camera under a pile of clothes - and he'd recorded the whole proposal!
Dan also made an absolutely adorable video of himself, talking about the top five reasons why he wanted to propose to Jennifer. They included:
#5: Dan's friends like Jennifer.
#4: Dan can be himself around Jennifer.
#3: Jennifer is "hot".
#2: Jennifer keeps Dan organized.
#1: Jennifer is Dan's best friend.
Every time I turn around...when I'm lost and when I'm found...
Jennifer and Dan were married on June 8, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. The ceremony was held at New Life Christian Ministries. The church was decorated simply, with white tulle bows along the inside aisle of the pews, and a white runner down the center aisle, as well. There were candelabras on either side of the front of the church and a flower arrangement in the middle between the steps. For favors, the guests were all given a small container of bubbles wrapped in tulle, with a verse printed on the tag that read: "Rice may be tradition, but bubbles are more fun. To wish Jennifer and Dan well, as their new life has begun!"
The reception was held at The Camelot Banquet Hall immediately following the ceremony. Dinner began shortly after the bridal party arrived from getting photos taken. The menu for the buffet meal included a tossed salad, pasta salad, cucumber salad, marinated chicken breast, stuffed shells, carved beef tenderloin, green beans almandine, roasted red skin potatoes, and cake and coffee for dessert. Needless to say, there was plenty of delicious food to satisfy the guests! When dinner was over, the dance floor was cleared of the buffet to make way for dancing that would last for 4 more hours! Dan and Jennifer started off the evening with their first dance to Martina McBride's "There You Are".
The cake had 4 tiers and a topper with two ceramic children - so adorable! There were fresh lavender roses on top of each layer of the cake. The happy couple cut the wedding cake together when it was time for dessert, and were very nice about feeding it to each other. The bride only got icing on her nose -- the groom just couldn't resist!
By the end of the evening, the newlyweds were both completely exhausted and completely happy -- it was honestly the most amazing, fun, and wonderful night of both of their lives! They danced with all of our friends and family for hours, laughed with each other, and celebrated! But sadly, the night had to come to a close eventually. It was time to say goodnight to family and friends, and to begin their new life together. They would leave for their honeymoon in two days, and there was a lot to do before then! So they waved goodbye, and were off....
Like an angel standing guard...there you are...
The bride wore a white dress with a full ballgown skirt. There were beaded flowers on the bodice and on the train. One of Jennifer's favorite parts of the gown's design was the cutout section in the front - it was an upside down 'V' section that featured an underneath layer embroidered with flowers in the same pattern repeated on the bodice and the train. This special feature of the dress made it different from the others the bride had tried on -- and ultimately was the reason she decided it was the dress for her! The groom wore a simple black tux. The bridesmaids wore periwinkle gowns with criss-cross tie backs.
There is nothing for me but to love you...
When asked to describe the wedding the bride replied, "It was simply wonderful! Everything went as planned, which was a huge (and very welcome!) surprise. The weather was gorgeous, the food was delicious. Everything went so well. It was one of the best and most fun days we've ever had!" When asked what they would do the same if they had the day to plan all over again, Jennifer replied, "Everything!"
