On the 15th of each month we feature a new and magnificent wedding! This is more than just a weekly "best site" contest with a link to the couple's wed-site. We will take you through the entire wedding process...from the planning, to the actual event, and everything in between...including details which made each big day special.

Some day, when I'm awfully low... Sara and Darcy met in a local pub in Calgary. They actually met through friends. Darcy was there with his buddy from work and Sara was there with a good friend of hers. Luckily enough, their friends were neighbors and already knew each other. Sara and Darcy hit it off immediately and they talked the night away. Darcy even danced with Sara that night which, for those who know Darcy, is a rare occurrence. He was a charmer and the couple remained together ever since that night...March 31, 1998.
I will feel a glow just thinking of you... Sara and Darcy had talked about getting married several times before the actual proposal date. They just always knew they belonged together. The actual engagement date was on February 10, 2001. They went that day to get the rings. Darcy picked out a beautiful solitaire diamond ring for Sara and she loved it. And in turn she picked out Darcy's engagement ring. As he says, equal rights in this day and age so he gets a ring too. It's very cool. After getting the rings Darcy made it official and asked Sara to marry him outside the store. Of course, she said yes. Surprise!
And the way you look tonight... The ceremony took place in the early afternoon at the Devonian Gardens, which is an indoor garden located in downtown Calgary. The couple was married on a bridge with their guests seated across a small pond from them. They a harpist that is something Sara had always wanted. She describes it as "beautiful".
The reception took place that evening at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel. The harpist played for everyone during the cocktail hour, then the closer to 130 guests went across the hall to the Sheraton Ballroom for a great dinner and dance. The night went by way too fast, but everyone had a great time.
Yes you're lovely, with your smile so warm...
The bride wore the dress she had dreamed of wearing ever since she saw it in a magazine. It was from the St. Patric collection and had beautiful beads shaped into flower designs. The bridesmaids wore long, shimmering blue dresses. The groom wore the classic tux with white vest and tie. The groomsmen wore the same with blue vest and tie to match the bridesmaids. The dashing ring bearer broke the mold and wore tails. He was adorable. Sara muses, "I must say, the group looked good that day."
There is nothing for me but to love you... When asked if there was anything they would do differently if they could do it all over again, Sara replied, "Well...maybe just one little thing after all. I would try and remember to actually 'have' the bouquet toss. We forgot it. Oops!"
Then when asked what they would do exactly the same, the bride replied, "Everything would be the same. Even though everything didn't go as planned, we still consider it a perfect day. We celebrated our love with the people that mean the most to us and just being there and feeling the support and love of everyone around us made the day perfect...just as it was."
