Presenting the "Dress of the Month Contest" November 2000 winner...Pam & Gabe
The Dress of the Month Contest is proud to announce our November winner, Pam & Gabe, who were just married on June 24, 2000. Here's the description of this month's winning gown:
"My Wedding Gown was a beautiful Demetrios design from their Young Sophisticates collection. It is duchess satin with a plunging "V" neckline. The empire waist is accentuated with pearl beading detail, and there are small pearl beads on the skirt. The back comes to a "V" where the detachable train hooks on. The train attaches under three satin roses and has matching beading down the skirt. I felt like Audrey Hepburn in this dress!"

Presenting the "Dress of the Month Contest" October 2000 winner...Rhonda & Alex
The Dress of the Month Contest is proud to announce our October winner, Rhonda & Alex, who were just married on March 3, 2000. Here's the description of this month's winning gown:
"Reminiscent of regal days from the past, I selected a traditional, ivory silk shantung dress with a princess line bodice embellished with hand-beaded re-embroidered lace. It featured a scoop neckline and short sleeves with an empire waistline and bow at back waist. The skirt was A-line trimmed with beaded lace and a chapel length train. The beadwork extended from the front of the hem around to a delicate pattern on the train. It was just enough sparkle to add formality without being overpowering.
My headpiece was a heavy crown of Austrian crystals and pearls. It's intricate patterns formed floral shapes with crystal loops at the top. The veil was custom made using 144" wide bridal illusion gathered in the back to create a fountain effect. It consisted of two-tiers and was slightly longer than the traditional fingertip veil. To complete the look, I wore elbow length, diamond white silk gloves."

Presenting the "Dress of the Month Contest" September 2000 winner...Lisa & Putt
The Dress of the Month Contest is proud to announce our September winner, Lisa & Putt, who just celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Here is this month's gown description:
"My gown was a straight, floor-length white sheath made out of satin. I wanted something "simple" that I could feel comfortable drinking a beer in. It featured an empire waist, bateau neckline, and chapel-length detachable train. The gown's hem was edged in venise lace which continued up the back of the train and into a bow at the back waist. The embroidered short-sleeved bodice featured a small, flat bow at the waist's front center. I also wore a short, two-tiered veil."

So if you are sitting there thinking, "Hey! My wedding dress was beautiful too...I could win this award...no scratch that, I must win this award!" -- why not fill out the application and prove it!
The rules are few. Unlike the Dress Contest, anyone is eligible to participate in the Dress of the Month Contest. (The Dress of the Month Contest is not limited to Newlywed Web Ring members only!) We want real brides in real wedding gowns. No supermodel magazine scans or "on the rack" shots, please. You must have at least one photo of your dress online at the URL you submit, so that the contest owner can see what the dress actually looks like on you. (Multiple shots from multiple angles preferred.) E-mailed photos are not accepted!
Please enter the Dress of the Month Contest only once every three months. Contest winners are asked to display the award (shown here) at their web site, with a link back to this URL. Photos entered must be available for current and future use/promotion by the contest owner. The Dress of the Month Contest is privately owned, and your photos will not be used for profit!
As this contest grows, this web site will be continually updated to archive each Dress of the Month. Good luck to everyone who decides to enter, and as always..."may the best dress win"!
