[Dress of the Month Contest]

[Our Ninth 'Dress of the Month']
Presenting the "Dress of the Month Contest" August 2000 winner...Heather & Matt!

Even though it's hard for a girl from Oklahoma to give anything from Texas a "thumbs up" sign, how could I not honor this beautiful dress (and bride)? The Dress of the Month Contest is proud to announce our August winner, Heather & Matt. Here's this month's dress description:

"My wedding dress was a classic style by Oleg Cassini made from white satin, with an A-line waistline, and a sweetheart neckline. The train is what sold me on the dress. It had tulle inset train, semi-cathedral in length, and a fitted bodice. The fitted bodice was adorned with sequins and pearls for just the right amount of sparkle. I wanted that extra dazzle. The back of the dress had a row of satin bridal buttons. It had one bustle and it really looked fabulous when it was bustled for the reception. I wore a fingertip two-tiered veil with thin white satin piping around the veil's edges." (Boomer Sooner!)

[Our Eigth 'Dress of the Month']
Presenting the "Dress of the Month Contest" July 2000 winner...Ashley and Daric!

This is a dress I wish I'd bought myself -- and as such the "Dress of the Month Contest" is happy to announce our next winner -- Ashley and Daric. Here's the description of July's gown:

"I knew it was the one when my Mom and Mom-in-law started crying. It was a simple ballgown (I wanted SIMPLE). Its silk neckline was reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn and for flash it had two bands of satin and illusion circumferencing the bottom of the gown -- which featured a chapel length train. I wore a tiara veil of satin roses and pearls -- and the gown's v-back had a rose and bow on the waist."

[Our Seventh 'Dress of the Month']
Presenting lucky number 7 in the "Dress of the Month Contest"...Angela & Baron!

A Louisiana wedding after our own heart -- the "Dress of the Month Contest" is pleased to present our 7th-ever winner -- Angela & Baron. Here's the description of June's winning gown:

"Being an out-of-state bride I had little hope of finding my dress in the one day I had in New Orleans. I wanted a very simple dress and didn't even want to try on anything strapless. After three hours of not loving what I thought I would, I was finally persuaded to try this one on and everyone in the store confirmed that it was indeed the one.

It is a two-piece boned, strapless corset Maggie Sottero gown; in matte satin with Swarovski crystals and mini pearls sewn on the brocade bodice. It has an A-line skirt that has the same brocade design at the hemline and chapel length train. Because it is two-piece and boned, it literally fit like a glove and the weight of the skirt did not affect the fit of the top. I wore a two-tier waist long veil made by my mother, attached to a pearl and crystal designed headpiece made by my Maid-of-Honor. I had opera length gloves as well as a matching wrap. I wore a double strand crystal necklace with matching earings. I think my dress has a classic elegant look and I love the way it bustled. The last dance was, 'I Could Have Danced All Night' from 'My Fair Lady' and that was just how I felt - the belle of the ball."
