The Dress of the Month Contest is honored to present our new February 2003 winning couple - Teresa and Ionel. The couple was married on August 3, 2002, at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Shatin, Hong Kong. Here is the February 2003 Dress of the Month's description:
The bride's sisters held a red umbrella over her head for protection on the way to the church. The Catholic ceremony was presided in English and Chinese. The bride wore a strapless white gown. The bodice featured silver thread embroidery and beading. It was gathered just below the bustline, and then split into a full ballgown-style skirt. The bride wore a single-strand pearl necklace and fingertip veil secured by a crystal tiara.
A traditional Chinese banquet followed. The bride wore a traditional Chinese dress. It featured gold and silver embroidery of the nine-dragon symbols. She also wore pure gold jewelry according to Chinese tradition, and a jade headpiece belonging to her great-grandmother.
