The Dress of the Month Contest is honored to present our new June 2002 winning couple -- Lon and Ed. The couple was married on April 29, 2001 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in New Jersey. Here is the June 2002 Dress of the Month's description as told by the bride:

"I wanted something with simple and delicate design, but with a dramatic silhouette. The gown I selected combined a tank-style boned bodice with a drop waist ballgown skirt. A full crinoline accentuated it. The fabric was a flowing diamond white silk organza, with Venice lace ornamentation along the neckline, straps, and hem. The understated sweep-train seemed fitting for my personality, and our garden wedding.

I bid on this gown in an online auction on a whim. Before it was delivered, I was nervous that it wouldn't suit me - I hadn't even tried on a single wedding dress yet! Needless to say, I was extraordinarily happy with it.

The headpiece was my own creation - from sewing on Venice lace florettes, to designing the clip to sweep my curls upwards before they cascaded down my back. The two-tiered elbow length veil followed the upsweep, and gently caught the breezes during the ceremony."

The Dress of the Month Contest is honored to present our new May 2002 winning couple -- Amy and Dennis. The couple was married on September 29, 2001. Here is the May 2002 Dress of the Month's description, told by the bride:

"I bought my gown from David's Bridal, after having purchased a completely different one 6 months earlier. I was unhappy with the first gown, and just fell in love with the detail of this one when I saw it. It is an off-the-shoulder gown in a A-line style featuring battenburg lace, detailed with sequins and pearls. The train is chapel length, and very heavy!"
