The Dress of the Month Contest is honored to present our new April 2002 winning couple -- Leslie & Michael. The couple was married on September 30, 2000 at Northeastern Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. Here is the April 2002 Dress of the Month's description as told by the bride:

"Growing up I always wanted to be a fashion designer. Even though my career goal changed (to that of teacher), I knew I had to design my own wedding dress. I wanted a dress that was simple, elegant and transcended time. (Oh, did I mention, it had to say "Diva!" instead of "Cinderella?") The result: an empire waist sheath-style gown made of white silk shantung.

I selected a scalloped neckline and a slightly flared skirt. As an accent, the straps, waistline and detachable train were adorned with white pearls and silver beads. The train, which was made of two panels, was lined with silver shantung fabric, and trailed ever-so-slightly behind me as I proceeded down the aisle."

The Dress of the Month Contest is honored to present our new March 2002 winning couple -- Wendy and Jon. The couple was married on April 28, 2001. Here is the March 2002 Dress of the Month's description, told by the bride:

"My wedding gown, pattern name 'Panter', was designed by by Pronovias. The bodice featured an empire waist adorned with rosettes, a squared bateau neckline, and dramatic Juliet-style bell chiffon sleeves. The back of the gown was accented by a sweep train and several silk-covered buttons, while the flowing skirt had a chiffon overlay. I felt like an angel in this dress...silk chiffon can make any girl feel good!"
