The Dress of the Month Contest is honored to present our new October 2001 winning couple -- Tiffany and Ken. The couple was married on April 14, 2001 at the Grapevine Concourse on Lake Grapevine in Grapevine, Texas. Here is the October 2001 Dress of the Month's description as told by the bride:

"Ken and I had went into a bridal shop and were looking at wedding gowns when we saw a mannequin wearing an ivory Mon Cherie dress with rum pink flowers on it. I looked at other dresses, but my eye kept going back to that dress. I went to several other bridal boutiques and looked at their dresses, and never did quite find what I was looking for. A couple of weeks later, a few friends and I went back to that first bridal shop that had "the dress". In the end it came down to two dresses, but the elegant style of this dress won out.

My wedding gown was an A-line style with "tank" sleeves worn almost off the shoulder. It featured a "squared scoop" neckline, basque waistline, and a full ballgown box-pleated skirt. I didn't want a dress with a lot of beadwork to weigh it down so that I couldn't dance, and this one had just the right amount. The dress is accented with embroidered rum pink, white, and translucent flowers with seed-pearls decorating the center of each flower. The embroidery started on the bodice, clustered at the waistline, and cascaded at the hem of the dress. The back of the dress was laced and corseted and swept into a flowing chapel-length train."

The Dress of the Month Contest is honored to present our new September 2001 winning couple -- Sandra and Shane. They were married on October 28th, 2000 at Bonzarlo Winery in Paso Robles, California. Here is the September 2001 Dress of the Month description, as told by the bride herself:

"The gown was handmade by my mother, Kristina Manning, who is a talented seamstress. Together, we designed the dress to best reflect what the 'Moon Goddess' would wear for her wedding. The dress was a total of five seperate pieces consisting of the bodice, the slip skirt, the over skirt, the bum roll and feathered angel wings.

We chose to use black velvet fabric, enhanced with streams of gold sequins, to make the outer skirt and the sides of the bodice bacause it resembled the starlit evening sky. To accent the moon, we used silver satin fabric covered with tiny pearls for the under skirt and also for the front of the bodice. To give the skirt volume, a bum roll was made. This was to be worn under the dress, around my hips, causing the skirt to fall away from my body. This also made my waist look much thinner.

To make the dress complete, we attached black feathered angel wings to the back of the dress bodice. My mother created the most beautiful dress I had ever seen and I was so proud to wear it on my wedding day."
