The Dress Contest is proud to announce our annual Dress Contest winner, Alexandra and Andrew, who were married in Australia on October 7th, 2000. Here's Alex's gown description:

"My mother made my dress! I chose aspects of dresses I liked in magazines and came up with a design. The majority of the dress is made of a champagne coloured delustred satin - a sort of peachy colour. The brocade panels in the skirt and bodice are ivory and have a delicate flower pattern. The dress has a square neckline, basque waist with some braiding on the bodice. The sleeves are bell shaped and lined with the brocade. The skirt is full due to countless layers of tulle under it, and about 30 tiny buttons down the back finish the dress.

I also had a small drawstring bag made to match the dress, made by a friend. My dress was influenced by the medieval & renaissance era, but it did not adhere strictly to the fashion of any particular year."
